1st / 2nd Grade - Mrs. Sandy McLeod

Hi, I'm Sandy McLeod and I am the First and Second Grade teacher.  I have taught first grade at Redeemer for 13 years.  I am so excited that I now have a chance to teach not only first grade but second grade as well.  Last year we had a great time learning to read and write, but we also had fun with different activities that involved singing, games, cooking and crafts.  Now we have a chance to do it all again and add the first graders in, too.

I am married and have two children.  Our son is serving in the U.S. Navy.  Our daughter is a junior in college.  Both of our children attended Redeemer through 8th grade and our son graduated from Lutheran High School, LaVerne.  I graduated from California State University, Fullerton, with a B.A. in English and have my California Elementary Teaching Credential.  Even though I have taught first grade more years, I have also taught 5th-8th grade language arts and ran the computer lab/library for K-6th.

I love teaching at Redeemer because we can talk about the love of Jesus and how God is always present in everything we do and say.  Because of our love of Jesus we as a classroom care for each other.  I try to bring out the positive strengths in each child.
